REVAMP WITH RIZZUTI
Photography by Aaron Schroeder
The other morning I left my apartment with one large Anne Klein purse, a reusable tote from Trader Joes, while juggling between my water bottle, umbrella and morning Starbucks. When I went to get my subway card out, it was all downhill from there...literally (but I saved my coffee phew)! As I was sitting on the subway trying to untangle all these bags without hitting another frazzled New Yorker, I thought on days like these I need one good bag that can handle all of my necessities...and preferably one that is not my grocery bag!
My Solution: Parker Zipper Tote by Jess Rizzuti: the geometric innovator!
Recently The High Life has had the chance to collaborate with the very talented purse designer, Jess Rizzuti. I met with Jess earlier in the year and immediately fell in love her with her classic yet unique designs, so I was thrilled when we started with this collaboration! Known for her edgy cuts on her famous clutches, Jess Rizzuti has been featured in over 60 fashion magazines and blogs, including some of our favorites, Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vouge, People's Style Watch and InStyle! So it's no wonder why we wanted a piece of her fame here on The High Life!

In this post, I chose to feature one of our favorite bags, the Parker Zipper Tote in Red and Gray & Black. Though I must admit it wasn't easy to narrow down our favorites, I just can't get over these extremely stylish totes. What caught my eye was, first, the zipper. This play on linears utilizes the simple and popular chevron pattern as a break between the up the pebbled leather, catching your gaze instantaneously. This use of textures is simple and on point. Nothing is overdone and nothing is understated.
Including the size! The Parker Zipper tote goes from mornings in the gym to the daily work commute and is daring enough to make it your accent piece for your night out. Living in Manhattan, I usually rely on one bag to hold everything needed for that day - phone, wallet, water bottle, makeup bag, extra pair of shoes (you never know!)! Commuting time is slim and switching bags between activities just doesn't happen. Though thankfully people like Jess Rizzuti create totes like these babies so we can say say la vie to our $4 Trader Joes reusable bags and upgrade to style. Go bold with red, dress up the details with the subtle gray (in all honesty does anyone in Manhattan wear anything other than black and gray?)
The Parker Zipper tote in black & gray or red (+ her other cute designs) is currently sold online at JessRuzzuti.com.
A special thank you to Jess Rizzuti for sharing her handbags as well as her kindness and sweet spirit with THL for this feature.
